Collaboration Between Gönye Project Design and Stoneline

Within the scope of our architectural office visits in this direction, we were guests of Gönye Project Design today. We had an efficient presentation where we shared our collections, designs and application areas.

“Pastorale Alla Turca”

48th Istanbul Music Festival organized by Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation (IKSV) and proudly supported by us, Stoneline, is preparing to Invite all the music enthusiast around Turkey to get together between the dates of September 18th – October 5th, 2020 on digital platforms, because of COVID-19 pandemic. 

“Pastorale Alla Turca” concert to which we are a show sponsor, will be streamed in September 27th, Sunday, at 20:00. 

Even though we deeply wish that we were together in a concert hall, resulting from the measurements and conditions of this unusual period, it is required that we need to experience the unique taste of music online this year.  

We would like to thank Istanbul Culture Arts Foundation (IKSV) who continous to contribute to the field of culture and arts with new and creative solutions in such a period and wish you a great experience.

Beethoven, tells the coherent relationship between the humanity and nature in  His 6th Symphony, Pastoral. Beethoven Pastoral Project which is conducted within the scope of BTHVN2020 centered around the celebrations of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, calls for the artists all around to world develop their owns perspective into this relationship in our current day where nature is threatened and humanity consumes its environment and resources fastly. Turgay Erdener’s new composition ordered by Istanbul Music Festival, heeds this call which becomes especially imporant in this period where we undure though times as humanity. Artist creates a brand new composition where instruments from our country and from classical western music come together, by harmonising the works of the Ottoman composers lived at the same time with Beethoven, with Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony.

Derya Turkan and Yurdal Tokcan who are considered amongst the leading virtuosos, not just in Turkey, ut also internationallity with their abilities regarding the Turkish instruments, they are also wanted guests in international projects and festivals. Serkan Mesut Halili successfull representer of the young generation, lives a carrier streching from Berlin Konzerthaus to Sydney Opera. Just like percussionist Aykut Köselerli who performed in various orchestras around the world, as well as in Turkey, contrabass player Kağan Yıldız also performs in concerts around the world with various musicians. Semplice Quartet awarded with Donizetti Classical Music Awards, proves that it is a long lasting and diferent musical community with its both nationally and internationally succesfull concerts since 2009, its wide repertoir streching from Baroque to today and its projects interacting with various disciplines of art.

IKSV & Stoneline Musician Support Fund

Istanbul Music Festival is creating a new fund with the contributions of STONELINE which is one of the sponsors of the show. The project of “Musician Support Fund”, in the field of classical music, aims to support the professional musicians who are not working in a public institute or a private orchestra and are not able to perform because of the the pandemic of COVID-19, by providing them a performance opportunity on digital platforms. Applications to the “Musician Support Fund” which has been created by Istanbul Music Festival, can be made via the application form in this link, until the date of July 10.

Accordingly, we are in a period which economically damaged the musicians and all other beneficiaries of the music production and created different approaches concerning the access to art. IKSV General Manager Görgün Taner who states that “solidarity and cooperation will be our greatest tools while we endure this period”, emphasizes that the field of culture and arts will shapes its future with new and creative solutions and helping the artists is especially important in this period. Taner completes his words by saying “I am happy that we could start a support programme in the field of classical music through Istanbul Music Festival and we present our sincere gratitudes for STONELINE to actualised this dream of ours”. 

STONELINE General Manager Mehmet Bayrak who states that we should emphasize on solidarity express his opinion of the support fund: “We are in a period which not only effects a country, but effects the world in a global scale. We need to reach the shore. With minimal damage. Elderly will lend his hand to the young, powerful will lend its hand to the weak. We too, as STONELINE family, wanted to contribute to the moral of artists, especially young artists who are one of the parties gravely effected by this period. We thank IKSV who provided this opportunity to us and who has been the strongest advocate for culture and arts in our country for 50 years.

Musician Support Fund Application Criteria

Participants who are residing in Turkey, completed their bachelor education, graduated from conservatories, who worked with the professional orchestras and communities performing in Turkey between the dates of January 2018 and January 2020 as a free orchestra musicians and is not currently employed in a goverment institute  or private institute or orchestra, will be able to apply to Musician Support Fund.

Participations will be evaluated by a council including Orhun Orhon (Maestro), Oğuzhan Kavruk (Antalya State Symphony Orchestra General Music Director and 1st Maestro), Özge Tanrıver (İzmir State Symphony Orchestra Manager), Ahmet Rahtuvan (Antalya State Symphony Orchestra Deputy Manager, Horn Artist), Ozan Göktan (Manager of Filarmonia Istanbul and Orchestra of Istanbul Chamber, Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra Horn Artists) and Doğukan Çokşeker (CRR Symphony Orchestra Manager) as manager and led by Efruz Çakırkaya, Istanbul Music Festival Director). Musicians chosen by the festival management, by joining the streams with the title “Musical Talk” which will be aired on social media channels and providing a record which they made on online platforms to be presented in the stream, will have the opportunity to be awarded with TRY 1.000.

Within the scope of the project, applications of which has been opened on May 22, 2020 and is planned to remain open until July 10, it is aimed to support the orchestra musicians who are not able to work due to the pandemic.

In June, “Musical Talk with Hakan Şensoy” which has been organized within the scope of “Musician Support Fund actualised within the scope of Istanbul Music Festival by the contributions of one of the sponsors of the show, STONELINE, has hosted the famous names of the classical music in Turkey. Program which is streamed live on the “Facebook”, “Instagram” and “IKSV YouTube” channels of Istanbul Music Festival, on every Tuesday evenings at 21.00, with the technical help of Hereous, consists of a talk with the guest of the week and a small concert. 2020 – Viewed Up To Seen/Group Exhibition

The group exhibition “Viewed Up to Seen”, consisting of the works of two young artists, Sırma Şiir Okan and Hatice Akyüz, who is working with concepts such as collective life, urbanization and migration. The show was opened to the visitors until 5 November 2020 at Stoneline Art Gallery.

The show gathers around  different techniques such as photography, painting, printing. Hatice Akyüz and Sırma Şiir Okan brings new perspectives on the social life’s personal and collective

structure. In Hatice Akyüz’s works, she works with  the ruins in the city that, there is not much left except the absence of its once inhabitants; on a plane blended with space, time, energy and memory

they come across. Through photographs and engravings; The “house”, which is a private place, collapsed in the political order, By being open to “others”, it is included in the public sphere.

In Sirma Şiir Okan’s works, the spatiality of the audience and the canvas or paper is dealt with by establishing a relationship between its spatiality.

It is detached from its original spaces and pasted on an artificial plane, beetles deprived of their belonging collectively and individually. The artist highlights concepts such as belonging and immigration and creates new space for alternative readings.

Stoneline Project Opening Exhibition

MARCH 17th – MAY 7th, 2016

11th personal painting exhibit of Rüçhan Şahinoğlu, “On the Outside” can be viewed at Stoneline Project between the dates of March 17th and May 7th, 2016. In Şahinoğlu’s exhibit, concepts of lack of communication, loneliness and alienation which are the main topics of her works, are transferred to the urban environment. 

This time, empty streets, deprived facades of the buildings, tense electrical transformers, but mostly, lonely streetlights are included in her paintings. Streetlights which were the iconographic elements of the recent paintings of the artist, transform themselves into silent witnesses of the fast, loud and ambitious flow of the city.

Stoneline Organized Trainings for the Students of the Architecture Department of Haliç University

N order to contribute to the recognition of natural stone, Stoneline has provided its training for architectural and interior design for the students of Haliç University this time. A tour led by Architect Mithat Arer, has been oganized on January 10, 2020 with the contributions of nearly 50students.

A presentation regarding natural stone products, production and process of stone has been conducted by Evren İyigönül, a natural stone purchasing expert of Stoneline and Geological Engineer Kadir Akyıldırım and they transferred their knowledge and experiences to the students.
